ACCA registration process is a crucial process, and in a way is your first step towards cracking ACCA. The online registration option, provided by the ACCA body makes it a lot more easier for you. It includes many steps, so be careful while doing online ACCA registration.
ACCA Registration process:
Step 1 Set up Account details
You need to give your personal details, such as name, date of birth, email address and a secure password. After submitting the details, you will be given a reference number.A password will be used to access your ACCA student portal, once your ACCA registration is completed.
Step 2 Your application
In this step, you will see confirmation of your country and qualification that you are applying for. Wherein, you can change your qualification choices if you live in a country where ACCA has a joint examination scheme with another professional body. Important information about the scheme will be provided on this screen.
Step 3 Your details
Here you will give your further personal information, like your address and employment details. You will register your mobile number for the SMS alerts, which would be very useful once your ACCA registration is done.
Step 4 is Your qualification
You can provide details of where you have studied and which academic qualification you hold. This will determine your entry point on the ACCA Qualification or Foundations in Accountancy, and if you are eligible for any exemptions. After you select the country where you studied, a table will appear showing qualifications, which are suitable for minimum entry.
If you hold a qualification at a higher level, you can input your course details to assess for exemptions. If you wish to apply for exemptions, you will be required to input your university or institution name, your course name, date of graduation and the course modules that you completed. You should have this information available when you are completing this section.

Step 5 Your exam status
Your exam status and exemption awarded if any will be displayed. You may choose to give up any exemptions you are awarded if you would prefer to sit the exam. You can give up exemptions on this page.
Step 6 is Supporting document
This section will display all the documents which are required for ACCA uploaded. These documents are required to be uploaded electronically. Documents such as, Proof of identity, proof of your qualifications and a passport sized photograph must be provided.
Step 7 is Your application summary
This page provides you the summary of your information that you have entered during your ACCA Registration. If you wish to edit any detail, you can go to that section and do the same. After that you must confirm that you have read and accepted ACCA’s terms and conditions.
Step 8 is Exam entry
If you are completing your ACCA registration online, then you can make an exam entry during the application process. You can choose to enter for either one of the next two exam sessions, or you can indicate that you will enter the exams details later. You will be shown a list of papers that you are eligible to enter for based on your exemption assessment and the ACCA progression rules.
Step 9 is Payment section
Here, you will make payment for your ACCA Registration.
If you are doing your ACCA registration offline, you should print off the cover sheet as directed and submit this along with your documents, to the address provided. ACCA recommends all postal applications to be submitted by registered post. Online is quick and easy process whereas offline is lengthy and approximately 20 days’ process.

(For the Higher Secondary Certificate the marks are out of 200, so over 130 meets the 65% requirement and over 100 meets the 50% requirement.)
Below is a breakdown of the grades in terms of percentage and actual grade.
50%-60% = Satisfactory = C1
60%-70% = Good = B2
85%+, 80%-85%, 70%-80% = A1–A2, B1

Professional examination route
The minimum entry requirements for ACCA registration, beginning at the Knowledge level, are two A-Levels and three GCSEs in five different subjects (including English and Mathematics). You may qualify for exemptions from some modules if you possess higher qualifications.
Foundations in Accountancy route (FIA)
- Must be 18 or over
- Students who successfully complete the Diploma in Accounting and Business, via Foundations in Accountancy can transfer to the ACCA Qualification and commence their studies from F4 onwards
- Gain exemptions from ACCA papers F1-F3
Graduate entry route
- Relevant degree holders from ACCA-accredited institutions may be exempted from up to nine exams, within the Knowledge & Skills levels, and register directly at the Professional level
- Holders of recognized business or accounting degrees may also qualify for exemptions
